Herring Gull - 12/21/13 - Lake Murray This was a completely overexposed shot. Did some editing to try to bring out some details and got enough to get the main markings of the Herring Gull. Posting it for that reason. Light colored iris in the eye, large yellow bill with orange mark on the lower mandible, markings on the head and neck.

There were six Turkey Vultures all hanging out together and flying rather low on and off. They got pretty close to us at times.
