Bald Eagle - Mom Decorah
Taken in Decorah Iowa 7/1/2012
Mom Decorah. Decorah Iowa.
Fledgling Bald Eagle. Decorah Iowa.
Think this was D12 leaving the mulch pile
Fledgling is not happy with this parent. Might be screaming for food. We weren't able to figure out all of their communication. Second parent is barely visible in the leaves below and to the left of the fledgling.
Both parents and one of the fledglings. The male is on the lower left and female upper right.
I believe this is Mom.
The nest. I couldn't capture the size of this thing. It's 80 feet up in a large Cottonwood tree. It is now 6 feet in diameter, and probably 4-6 feet deep. It's huge. All five eagles are able to stand in it.
Not a good photo, as photos go, but such a cool view that I posted it anyway.
Maybe trying to snag a fish?
